Tesla Recalls Over 1.8 Million Vehicles Due to Hood Failure
Tesla, the popular electric car maker, is recalling more than 1.8 million vehicles due to a potential hood failure. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced that latch assemblies in 17 new and used Tesla vehicles may not properly detect when the hood is open, posing a safety risk for drivers.

The recall affects the following Tesla models:
- 2021-2024 Model 3
- 2021-2024 Model S
- 2021-2024 Model X
- 2020-2024 Model Y
While Tesla has reported no crashes, injuries, or deaths related to this issue, they are taking proactive measures to address the problem.

Tesla has released a free software update to address the hood failure issue. Property owners will be notified via email on September 22 and can contact Tesla’s customer service line at (877) 798-3752 for assistance. The relevant recall number for this issue is SB-24-00-012.
