Three Men Arrested for Robbing Secret Service Agent in Tustin

Three men have been taken into custody after allegedly robbing a Secret Service agent in Tustin on July 25. The incident occurred in the Legacy neighborhood of Tustin, where one of the suspects approached an off-duty agent with a gun.

According to Tustin police, the agent was able to defend himself by drawing a revolver and shooting one of the suspects. The suspects, identified as Jamonte Fitzgerald Johnson, Bertrand Claude Bell, and Eshawn Dwayne Dodson, are now facing multiple charges related to the robbery.

Arrest and Charges

Johnson, Bell, and Dodson have been charged with robbery and other firearm-related offenses. Johnson was also charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, while Dodson received a sentencing enhancement for using a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Bell was apprehended in Los Angeles and is expected to appear in court soon. The suspects, all in their 30s, may face additional charges as the investigation progresses.

Police Investigation and Arrests

After the robbery, investigators were able to recover items taken from the agent and extract DNA evidence from the scene. This led to the arrests of Johnson and Dodson, who were apprehended in Riverside and Watts, respectively.

Johnson and Bell are currently being held without bail, while Dodson’s bail is set at $1 million. The swift action of law enforcement and collaborative efforts with the Orange County Crime Lab played a crucial role in identifying and capturing the suspects.

In conclusion, the apprehension of these individuals underscores the importance of swift and thorough police work in bringing perpetrators to justice. The safety and security of law enforcement officers, both on and off duty, is paramount, and efforts to combat crime and violence in our communities must remain vigilant.

If you have any information about this case or any suspicious activity, please contact the Tustin Police Department immediately. Let us continue to work together to ensure the safety and well-being of our communities.
