Woman Arrested for Intentionally Crashing Car into Taco Shop
A woman was arrested on Friday night after intentionally crashing her car into a taco shop in Canoga Park. The incident occurred at Taco Reyes near Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Saticoy Street around 7:15 p.m. Witnesses reported seeing the female driver drive through the glass front door and into the dining area, causing chaos and destruction.
Witnesses Describe the Terrifying Scene
According to witnesses, the driver repeatedly rammed her vehicle into the interior walls of the restaurant while about 15 people were inside. Bailey Thompson, who works at the bar next door, recalled the harrowing experience as the car crashed through walls connecting the two establishments. Police eventually arrived at the scene, and there was a brief standoff before the woman was taken into custody.
Motive Behind the Violence Unclear
The motive behind the violent act is still unknown, but the owner of Taco Reyes revealed that the woman was a former employee who had recently been fired from the store. The suspect had a history of vandalism, having previously targeted one of their taco trucks. The incident is currently under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.
Family members were seen cleaning up the debris and boarding up the restaurant late Friday night. The pub next door also remains closed as both businesses work to repair the extensive damage caused by the deliberate crash. Despite the chaos and destruction, no customers or workers were injured in the incident.
