Murder Charges Filed in Long Beach Street Vendor Killing
Authorities in Los Angeles County have charged three men in connection with the March killing of a street vendor in Long Beach. Rahman Snook Abdallah, 19, and Raylon DeShawn Akers, 23, have both been charged with murder, while James Arthur Havlicheck, Jr., 33, faces charges of being an accessory after the fact.
Details of the Crime
The charges stem from the fatal shooting of Yener Hudiel Ramirez-Miranda, a street corn vendor in Long Beach. Detectives believe that Abdallah and Akers shot at a rival gang member, with Ramirez-Miranda being struck by a stray bullet. Unfortunately, he later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.
Legal Consequences
All three men are currently being held without bail, with potential lengthy prison sentences if convicted. Abdallah and Akers could face up to 35 years to life, while Havlicheck may face up to six years behind bars.
Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón condemned the senseless violence that led to Ramirez-Miranda’s death, emphasizing the need for justice and accountability in such cases.
