Los Angeles Firefighters Contain Brush Fire in Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area
In a swift and coordinated effort, firefighters in Los Angeles successfully contained a brush fire that had broken out in the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area. The fire, which had grown to 75 acres, was first reported at 12:50 p.m. in the 15700 block of West Burbank Avenue. By 2:35 p.m., Humphrey announced that 69 firefighters had successfully stopped the fire’s advancement northwest of the intersection of Burbank and Woodley avenues. Ongoing firefighting operations are in place to ensure that the fire remains contained and extinguished.

In light of the fire and ongoing firefighting efforts, all northbound and southbound lanes on Woodley Avenue between Burbank and Victory avenues have been closed to ensure the safety of both responders and the general public.
