Arrest Made in Connection to Moreno Valley Shooting

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department announced on Thursday that the suspected shooter in a recent Moreno Valley shooting has been arrested. The incident, which resulted in the death of a man named Gilbert Ramirez, occurred earlier this week on Bostwick Drive.

Victim Identified and Suspect Apprehended

When officers arrived at the scene on Monday, they found Ramirez, 30, with multiple gunshot wounds. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Through their investigation, homicide investigators identified Joe Miramontes, a 31-year-old from Moreno Valley, as the sole suspect in the murder. A warrant was obtained for his arrest.

On Wednesday, Miramontes was located at an apartment complex in Pomona, where he was taken into custody without incident. He is currently being held at the Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of murder.

Motive Still Unclear

Despite the arrest, a motive for the shooting has not yet been disclosed. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities continue to urge anyone with additional information to come forward. They can contact Investigator Denham or Principal Investigator Navarrete at 951-955-2777.

Overall, law enforcement officials are relieved to have made an arrest in connection to this tragic incident and hope to provide justice for the victim, Gilbert Ramirez, and his loved ones.
