Recruiting Redshirt Seniors to Boost the Defense
The UCLA football team recently faced some challenges with late departures from the transfer portal, leading to the need to retool its defense. Head coach DeShawn Foster and safeties coach Brian Norwood turned to the portal to recruit three redshirt seniors to help fill the void. The additions of Brian Addison from Oregon, KJ Wallace II from Georgia Tech, and Ramon Henderson from Notre Dame have brought experience and talent to the team.
Impressive Performances in Spring and Training Camp
Despite the challenges of integrating new players into the team, Norwood is pleased with the performance of the three transfers. They have been impressive in first-team reps during the spring practices and training camp. Norwood highlighted their ability to communicate with teammates and improve the team overall. Addison, in particular, has shown great progress, adding size and strength to his frame since his days at Oregon State.
New Beginnings: Freshman Running Back Joins the Team
Freshman running back Cam Jones has quickly adapted to the UCLA program during training camp. Coming from St. John Bosco, Jones felt well-prepared for the challenges of college football and has seamlessly transitioned into the team. Despite changes in coaching staff, Jones remained committed to UCLA, citing the perfect fit with Coach Foster. With a focus on time management and skill development, Jones is eager to contribute to the team’s success.
